The workshops will be geared to those with little or no dance experience, but are recommended for anyone who wants to learn each dance in detail before the ball. (At the Ball the walk throughs are simply that - a run through of each dance with minimal instruction.)

I will be demonstrating various techniques I use to make poke bonnets and stovepipe bonnets. I have been making and selling Regency bonnets and kits for over 10 years. My bonnets are currently all over the US, in Canada, the UK, Australia, Ireland and France. They have been featured in stage productions, used as professional photography props, and worn at the Jane Austen Festival in Australia. All Tied Up - Cravat Tying Demonstration - Saturday May 5, 2012 by Mark Harris
They have been a declaration of one's political party, club affiliation, status, and it has even been said that one "was thick enough to turn a bullet". Unfortunately, even though there was once an industry of publications and experts who taught men of fashion how to tie their cravats, there are very few instruction left. I will be showing how to tie the Mail Coach, but if you have instructions on another type I will be happy to assist you. If you don't have a cravat yet, there will be a couple available to try.
